Maxillary caps (58 & 68) that caused maxillary eruption lumps.  Also 77 & 87 fractured caps. Also 2 wolf teeth. Caps are "baby" teeth that are ejected in every horse from 2 1/2 years to 4 1/2 years of age. There are 12 cheek teeth and 12 incisors that shed baby teeth during this time.

The underside of a mature cap becomes filled with green fermenting food.  This causes the classical smell found in young horses with caps ready to come out.  The small bloody area is where the cap was still attached to the gum.
