This horse prefers to remain laying down to eat because of undiagnosed severe pain in his RF hoof. He either has a bruised sole or a sole abscess.
This horse would suddenly lay flat out and become distant from pain in his RF hoof. He is on 1 gram bute twice a day. Later, he was asked to stand which he did easily and then hobbled out to the paddock. His veterinarian is scheduled to exam him later today.
