ETORH horse 5 - 1 year after extractions - BCS is a 6. Gums are very healthy. Remaining 403 is solid and non-painful.Notice the tongue hangs out of the mouth because there are no incisors to keep it in. It is this pressure that forces the incisors of older horses to move out and to become long in the tooth.

Moderate EOTRH with hypercementosis exposed on the upper corner incisors. Note receding gum line, mottled gums, tarter on the teeth at the gum line and a groove forming between the incisors. Judging from the large amount of white on the corner incisors, I can presume that the tongue is more active at both upper incisors which may be the reason why the gums in these areas is more receded.
