Ruptured Peroneus Tertius of the left hind limb. Note the almost straight line from the cannon through the stifle caused by the tendon keeping the leg bent in this area being ruptured and no longer functional. This is not a glaring case but it was significant enough to retire this horse from it’s sport and then caused his euthanasia.

This is an "undiagnosed" injury caused on a July 4th evening many years ago where the fireworks caused this horse to run to exhaustion.. He is sound and is successfully competing in dressage with this leg. Unfortunately about 2 years after this photo he was euthanized.
