This horse had a mandibular fracture as she wore an oral speculum 10 years ago. You can see the hard bony lump below the left ear. She now can open her mouth completely and I have no problem floating her, but for 2 years the owner vowed never to have the teeth floated again if everyone was going to use a speculum.
