Thoroughpin - The fluid within the joint space bulges to the outside of the hock. When it is pressed with the fingers, the fluid displaces across the hock to bulge out the other side. It is either an over-production of joint fluid, an inability to drain or both. In this horse it was a sudden onset (overnight) with no pain. Most thoroughpins are not painful.
